Scope
To promote HSE throughout the
company and with its contractors via
documents, plans, noticeboards,
arranging PPE, arranging training
courses, arranging emergency
response drills, audits,
inspections, tool-box talks and
promote a positive "Safety Culture"
by means of leading by example.
Key
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
-
Promote safety in the office and
among the subsidiaries to
achieve our established KPI's.
-
Collecting, eval0uating and
archiving reports of all
incidents and spills received
from subsidiaries and collating
month end data.

Maintain Petrogas E&P HSEMS
documents- HSEMS, Procedures,
Emergency Response Plans, HSE
Plans, etc.
-
Ensure office has required PPE,
fire extinguishers, first aid
kits etc.
-
Maintain and enhance HSE notice
boards in the office.
-
Coordinate HSE training and
update the training matrix.
-
Help organize events in the
office to further promote HSE (HSE
meetings, STOP training etc).
-
Take part in audits and reviews
to help ensure compliance to
policies, procedures, training
requirements, use of tool box
talks, journey management etc.
-
Perform monthly inspections of
facilities, office equipment,
company vehicles (includes
leased vehicles) to ensure
compliance with legal and
Petrogas E&P policies.
-
Maintain all records established
to verify HSE performance such
as Corrective Action Tracking,
Statistics and Reporting, which
shall include Risk management.
Near Miss/Hazards/Observation
Reports, Accidents/Incidents
Reports and Corrective actions,
Environmental Management reports
and other related issues.

Ensuring company employees are
aware of and adhere to the
company HSE Management System.

As and when required. Liaise
with applicable Ministries e.g.
Ministry of Regional
Municipality, Environment and
Water Resources. (MRMEWR) to
obtain updated regulatory
decrees, COP's etc.

Participate in community
relations and public affairs on
matters relating to the company
and the environment, liaising
with governments and Ministries,
environmental agencies and other
relevant bodies to ensure a
positive image of company's
concern for the environment.

Attend HSE conferences, forums
and workshops as required.
Qualification/Experience:
-
Preferably a graduate in a
Petroleum-related discipline or
Fire and Safety.
-
A professional
accreditation/qualification from
an international institution
(preferably in safety), NEBOSH
(National Educational Board of
Occupational Safety & Health)
Certificate or IOSH and working
towards achieving NEBOSH Diploma
or equivalent.

Minimum 10 years experience in
the industry, of which at least
5 years in Operations and 3
years in an HSE role
Essential Skills & Competencies:
-
A sound knowledge of all E&P
operations, procedures and
practices. All basic HSE courses
should be attended.

Good communication skills in
both English and Arabic (spoken
and written).
-
Computer skills, EXEL, WORD, PPT
etc.
-
Valid Omani Driving License
required.
